Washington, D.C. – Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) today issued the following statement concerning President Trump’s National Emergency Declaration for the Coronavirus situation:

“We must reassure the American people that we are able to handle a national threat such as this, and the President’s declaration will make that possible. The steps listed as part of this declaration will enable us to beat this. The President is not only working with Congress to make sure we are pulling out all the stops to provide the necessary testing kits and medical equipment, including respirators, to all 50 states, but with private companies and health organizations to address this. This is the American way. When trouble strikes, we are prepared to fight. Our country has been through national emergencies before and we have risen above against many kinds of obstacles. We will again. As Americans, we will persevere.”
