OMAHA, NE – Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) issued the following statement in regards to today’s shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh:

"I am deeply saddened to hear about the shooting at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, and send my prayers to the victims, their families and the Squirrel Hill community. The law enforcement and first responders acted heroically in securing the situation and apprehending the shooter, and I am thankful for their actions and dedication. We have seen much violence and hatred these last few years and it must stop. Further, any manifestation of anti-Semitism is abhorrent and has zero place in our society. As Americans first, we must unify and transcend our cultural, racial and political differences, and nurture more respect and peace amongst ourselves.”
