Rep. Don Bacon Will Travel to Israel: Will Meet top Israeli and Palestinian Leaders

OMAHA, NE- Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) will travel to Israel next week to receive updates on the U.S.-Israel relationship, the peace process, Israel’s security situation, and important political and economic trends in the region. He will meet with senior Israeli and Palestinian leaders and explore opportunities for bilateral economic and technological cooperation with the Israeli business community.

“As an Air Force Officer, I helped set up Israel’s missile defense system and I am looking forward to seeing how it is being utilized and how it has progressed,” said Congressman Bacon. “I look forward to joining Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and my freshman colleagues in gaining a broader understanding of the quest for a lasting peace in the region with a wide variety of leaders across the spectrum–Israelis, Palestinians, religious figures, opposition members, military members and ordinary citizens. At a time of great instability in the region, Israel is America’s most important ally.”

The trip is sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF), the charitable organization affiliated with AIPAC. AIEF Israel seminars are considered among the most substantive, rigorous and valuable opportunities for members of Congress to learn about the U.S.-Israel relationship. The trip is paid for by AIEF, which is privately funded by American citizens.
