Washington, DC – Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) today released the following statement to honor Pope Benedict XVI, who was laid to rest on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at St. Peter’s Square in Rome, Italy. 

 “Pope Benedict XVI was a true servant of God and a profound theologian. His faith and teachings inspired millions of Catholics here in the U.S. and around the world to live out the Word of God and to love our brothers and sisters despite our differences. I offer my sympathies and mourn with the Catholic community, including those in our district. May we remember his legacy and devotion to making this world a better place for all.”
