Omaha receives $2 million grant for UNMC pedestrian walkways

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The University of Nebraska Medical Center and Omaha officials gave an update Friday on a planned bicyclist and pedestrian walkway over Saddle Creek Road.

The city recently received $2 million in federal funds from the Department of Transportation.

The money will be added to a federal grant the Omaha got last year, as well as funding from UNMC to support not only the pathway over Saddle Creek, but another over Leavenworth Street.
