“Small businesses are a vital part of Nebraska and our nation’s economies. Nationwide, there are over 29 million small businesses and the latest statistics show Nebraska is home to nearly 170,000 small businesses employing 394,000 people. Small business owners epitomize the American spirit and are hardworking, determined, inventive individuals who employ nearly half of our nation’s private sector employees. H.Res.603, Recognizing November 25, 2017, as "Small Business Saturday" and supporting efforts to increase awareness of the value of locally owned small businesses, encourages all to shop locally and increase the awareness of the impact that small businesses in Nebraska’s Second Congressional District and throughout the nation have in our communities.”
