Yesterday, Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) issued the following statement after voting in favor of H.Res. 107 which would establish the Congressional Gold Star Family Fellowship Program for the placement in offices of Members of the House of Representatives of children, spouses, and siblings of members of the Armed Services who are hostile casualties or who have died from a training-related injury.

“I have made it my mission to work across the aisle to ensure Congress does its part to honor our heroes and care for the families who bear the daily burden of their loss,” said Rep. Bacon. “That is why I support this resolution which honors the memory of two great American warriors: Army Sergeant First Class Sean Cooley and Army Specialist Christopher Horton. The country will benefit from families of the fallen by joining members of Congress to help craft the laws that govern our nation. In so doing, we honor the freedoms and democratic principles for which these heroes gave their lives.”
