WASHINGTON, D.C. — All five Nebraska U.S. Congressional representatives, Senators Deb Fischer and Ben Sasse and House Representatives Jeff Fortenberry, Don Bacon and Adrian Smith, jointly wrote a letter to President Joe Biden in support of Governor Pete Ricketts's request for a Major Disaster Declaration for portions of Nebraska impacted by severe thunderstorms earlier this year.

Many communities across Nebraska were affected by large thunderstorms between July 9 and July 10 that destroyed property and left thousands without power.
