Bacon Issues Statement on September 11 Anniversary

OMAHA, NE- Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) released the following statement in regards to the anniversary of the September 11th attacks:

"Seventeen years ago today, terrorists attempted to destroy our great nation with acts of violence meant to strike fear in everyone by murdering innocent men, women and children. While 2977 innocent lives were lost, Americans did not allow the tragic incidents of that day make them cower in fear. Instead, we rose up as a nation and set out to destroy those who directed and planned these terrorist attacks and those who supported them.  Today, we remember and honor those whose lives were lost, and their families. And we honor those who worked tirelessly to try and save as many as they could; the first responders and the every day citizen alike. We can’t forget it was every day citizens who were the first to fight back against these murderers on UA Flight 93. We also remember that over 6,700 American servicemen and women have made the ultimate sacrifice in the Middle East following this terrible day 17 years ago. My prayers are with this nation as we remember and as we continue to look towards the future. God bless the USA.

Congressman, Nebraska's Second District"
