Congressional Youth Advisory Academy

Congressman Bacon’s Congressional Youth Advisory Academy is an annual opportunity for students to learn how Congress operates and the process by which federal policy is formed. Not only will students get the opportunity to learn how Congress operates, but students will also get to see Congress in action by attending excursions that showcase the collaboration between federal agencies and institutions that work together on issues such as; national security, healthcare advancements, law enforcement, and infrastructure developments. By being a member of CYAA, students show their commitment to understanding the functions of our government and build on their desire to be a part of making a difference. The knowledge and experiences students will gain from this program are invaluable and will prepare them to be future leaders in whatever path they choose.

Students will also have the opportunity to interact with Congressman Bacon and his staff to learn more about our system of checks and balances during the program’s required orientation.
