Rep. Bacon to Attend Presidential Inauguration

 – Today, Representative Don Bacon (NE-02) and his wife Angie will attend the inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America. In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, Representative Bacon will attend the Inauguration Ball later this evening.

While Article Two of the Constitution of the United States only mandates that the President take an oath before they assume office, the Inauguration Ceremony has taken place at 12 Noon on January 20th since 1937.

"I look forward to witnessing this time-honored tradition that signifies the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the next,” said Representative Bacon. "Not only do I respect and honor our Constitution, I respect our traditions and feel they help contribute to the fabric of our country.  This process serves as an example to the rest of the world how democracy and liberty serve as the best form of governance for all people."

"During the next two years, I am going to work on addressing needs such as healthcare and jobs for our veterans; work with our agricultural producers to ensure they have the tools to be productive and protected; and ease the burdensome regulations that our small businesses face when trying to operate and provide a living for many Americans," Bacon said. "I am eager to see and optimistic about how President-elect Trump will work with Congress in addressing these issues."
