Rep. Bacon to host the 2019 Congressional Art Competition
Washington, D.C.—Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) will partner with the Nebraska Art Teacher Association and high schools to coordinate and evaluate The Congressional Art Competition. This competition is open to all high school students in Nebraska’s Second District and is usually conducted every Spring.
“This is an outstanding opportunity for Nebraska students to showcase their artistry and passion, while also representing the great state of Nebraska,” said Rep. Bacon. “I think it’s important that we continue to appreciate and celebrate art, especially through America’s youth.”
Students will submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners will be recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning artist will have their work displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. Various winners throughout the country will also be displayed.
Information regarding the 2019 Art Competition will be posted as it becomes available from the Congressional Institute. Applicants can also visit the following website for official rules, forms and guidelines:
