Rep-Elect Bacon Votes Against Amendments Proposed to Office of Congressional Ethics
Washington, DC,
January 5, 2017
Congressman-Elect Don Bacon (NE-02) has opposed the change to the Office of Congressional Ethics amendments recognizing ethics reform is needed, but this is not the right path for said reform. "Many Democrats and Republicans would like to see changes to the Office of Congressional Ethics. These efforts should have been conducted in more of a bi-partisan manner with broader considerations. Therefore, I voted against the proposed changes," said Congressman-Elect Bacon. On Monday evening the House Republican members met for its organizing conference on the 115th Congress. During this meeting, members voted on amendments to the rules for the 115th Congress. One amendment proposed and adopted at this conference would be to move the independent Office of Congressional Ethics to the bipartisan House Committee on Ethics. ### Editor’s Note: Constituents can reach Congressman-Elect Bacon through his official office at (888) 221-7452. |
