Congressman-Elect Bacon To Serve As Presiding Chair Over Special Orders

MONDAY, JANUARY 2, 2017 – On Wednesday evening, January 4, 2017, Congressman Don Bacon will preside over the House floor during Special Order speeches. 

Each Freshman Member will share duties of serving as the Presiding Chair during Special Orders.  After legislative business, members will have the opportunity to speak under a process known as Special Orders.  Both parties will be allowed one “Leadership Hour” and two half-hour Special Orders each day.  In addition, the majority and minority alternate who controls the first hour each day.  The speeches will be broadcast via C-SPAN.

Congressman-elect Bacon will take Oath of Office on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 1:15PM CST.
