BACON VOTES NO ON CONTINUING RESOLUTION

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) today voted no on a Continuing Resolution to keep the government funded through December 16, 2022. He released the following statement:

“Continuing Resolutions are a blow to military readiness because they delay military training, modernization, and decrease recruitment and retention efforts. Instead of extending funding into 2023, this is a lame attempt by the Democrats to increase federal spending and will cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars. While this CR provides funding to Ukraine, majority of the aid goes toward government assistance and humanitarian aid rather than providing weapons and lethal capabilities needed to deter Russian aggression. By voting yes to this resolution, we are taking a knee during a time when we should be proactive and vote on separate bills that truly combat America’s toughest issues.”
