Washington, D.C. – Rep. Don Bacon (R-Nebr.) today offered his congratulations to Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) for his selection as chairman of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) for the 118th Congress. Rogers served as the Ranking Republican Member of the committee in the 117th Congress.

“Chairman Rogers is a fierce advocate for national defense and has worked tirelessly to ensure that our military has the resources and authorities it needs to defend America and our vital interests around the world,” said Bacon. “I look forward to his leadership of the committee in the 118^th Congress as we work together to confront the many security challenges we face.”

Bacon has served on HASC since the 115th Congress after retiring as a brigadier general following a 30-year active-duty career in the United States Air Force.
