Rep. Bacon Announces Next Town HallThanks Constituents for Attending First Two of Seven
Washington, DC,
May 4, 2017
Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) hosted two town halls, one in Gretna and one at Millard West High School, this past weekend with a combined total of nearly 700 people in attendance. The next town hall is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 at Bennington Elementary School, 11620 N 156th St, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. “I would like to thank the constituents who were able to attend these first two town halls this past weekend,” said Congressman Bacon. “We received very positive feedback about the format we utilized, which provided an opportunity to address the maximum number of diverse questions and comments from constituents.” Constituents were asked to write their questions on a form and drop them into a clear plastic bin. The moderators then randomly pulled questions from the bin, recognized the person who submitted that question and read it aloud. The person who submitted the question was allowed to ask a follow-up question. “There were some misconceptions that stated we were pre-screening the questions which is 100 percent false,” added Congressman Bacon. “I had several individuals who told me they went into the town hall believing I would not take questions or allow constituents to interact with me, and left feeling that it was a legitimate town hall.” Everyone who submitted a question along with their contact information, will receive a response if their question was not answered at the town hall. In addition to the town hall in Bennington, town halls are scheduled for the Elkhorn area and South Omaha on Saturday, May 20; and North Omaha and Papillion in June. Constituents can receive notifications about future town halls by signing up for Congressman Bacon’s email list on bacon.house.gov. All town halls are open to constituents of the Second District and the media. ### |
