Bacon Announces Winners of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition

Omaha, Neb. – Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) today announced the 2024 Congressional Art Competition winners.

“Every year, I am so impressed by the talent we have here right in the 2nd Congressional District of Nebraska,” said Bacon. “I thank each of the students who entered and the teachers who helped mentor them.”

Today, the winners and honorable mentions were displayed at the Cathedral Arts Project at 3900 Webster St. in Omaha.

“I want to thank Frederika ver Holst for her help in organizing this great event for the second year in a row,” added Bacon. “She has truly helped us make sure these students feel recognized and appreciated for their hard work.”

The winners for 2024 are:

1st Place – “Tinkering with Time” by Lola Warren (Omaha Westside HS)

 2nd Place – “My Dog’s Wish” by Kenadie Rudloff (Omaha Marian HS) 

 3rd Place – “Contrasting Beauty” by Sophia Sullivan (Millard North HS) 

 Honorable Mentions: 

  • “Lets See What Happens” & “We are the ones painting colors in other people’s hearts” by Greta Justice (Omaha Marian HS) 
  • “Stars and Stripes” by Jack Johnson (Omaha Creighton Prep) 
  • “The Scott Aquarium” by Quenby Smith (Seton Home School) 
  • “Take my Hand” by Ayriel Britt (Millard South HS)
