Rep. Bacon Releases Statement on President Signing NDAA into Law

Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) released the following statement after the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law by President Trump:

"Today the President signed the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act into law, a major milestone in restoring our military readiness.   When I first came to Congress I made it a priority to ensure our men and women in uniform were given a much-needed pay raise, that they had the best training and resources in the world, and I promised to fight for the resources needed to modernize our equipment. Through months of hearings and direct engagement with our senior military leaders, I worked diligently with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and in both Chambers of Congress to craft defense legislation that ensures our Armed Forces can deter aggression and dominate in every domain.  This NDAA provides a full 2.4% pay raise for our troops, increases readiness enhancements by $26 billion, and increases military end-strength by 19,000 personnel.  This is real progress, but the work is not finished.  It must now be accompanied by a budget agreement that fully funds these priorities."
