Rep. Bacon Statement on House Passing Defense Appropriations for a Third Time

Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) today released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed FY18 Department of Defense appropriations for a third time:

“Today I voted for and the House passed legislation to fully fund the Department of Defense for fiscal year 2018. This is the third time the House has voted on defense funding since July. This bill includes $659.2 billion to pay our troops, ensure our military has the equipment and resources it needs to be successful, and restore readiness. It is time for Senate Democrats to put their names on the line and vote for this bipartisan bill.

Instead of voting for our troops and national security, Senate Democrats have been holding defense funding hostage over unrelated issues. This reckless obstruction must end. Our nation cannot afford another continuing resolution and our men and women in uniform deserve to have the resources this legislation provides.”
