Rep. Bacon Votes for Farm Bill
Washington, DC,
April 19, 2018
Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) voted in support of the 2018 Farm Bill in the House Agriculture Committee today: “I voted today in favor of the 2018 Farm Bill because it provides our farmers and ranchers with the resources they need to continue expanding our nation’s ag economy. Included in this Farm Bill were priorities I have supported throughout my time in Congress including the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccine Bank, which provides mandatory funding for the National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program and U.S.-only vaccine bank. Further, affordable crop insurance was maintained providing a safety net for our farmers. I was also pleased to see the appropriate emphasis put on trade, food aid, and research in the bill. Finally, this bill provides skills training for our SNAP recipients that will help them better compete for jobs in our growing economy. Employers throughout the Omaha area tell me it is difficult to find workers with the right training for positions they need filled. The Farm Bill helps meet this need.” ### |
