Bacon Votes to Keep Government Open

Washington - Rep. Don Bacon voted yes today on H.R.10545 - American Relief Act, 2025(CR), which keeps the government funded through March 14, 2025, at current spending levels. It also includes additional funding for disaster relief and an extension of the 2018 Farm Bill.

The $110 billion in disaster relief funding targets resources for rural communities, particularly farmers and ranchers facing both a tough farm economy and the aftermath of multiple disasters. For disaster relief, $10 billion in economic assistance is provided to farmers. It passed on a vote of 366-44-1.

He posted a statement to X:

"There was no way we could shut the government down and cut discretionary spending because it would've affected two million service members, border patrol agents, air traffic controllers, and many others. We are also providing critical relief to natural disaster victims and farmers. There was no room for a Christmas shutdown."
