Bacon Asks for Withholding of His Pay During Shutdown

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OMAHA, NE - In a letter sent today (12/27/18) to the Chief Administrative Officer of the House of Representatives, Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) asked for his pay to be withheld until an agreement to fund the whole government takes effect. In the letter, Rep. Bacon stated, "I believe that Members of Congress should be treated the same as all other federal employees who are impacted by a government shutdown." He continued by saying "Fairness and decency dictates that my pay also be withheld," and that "Congress must act quickly to fund the government, protect our national security, and ensure hardworking men and women across the country receive the pay that they have rightfully earned."
