Bacon Thankful for Passage of Coronavirus Relief Bill by Voice Vote
Washington,
March 27, 2020
Omaha, Neb. – While recognizing that the CARES Act was imperfect, Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) expressed his thanks and optimism as the act was passed by a voice vote to send relief to the American people, businesses and the health community. The package included essential funding for needed medical equipment and supplies, funding for loans to assist businesses with payroll, rent and other expenses, and money to the American people who through no fault of their own may have lost their job or seen their hours reduced. “While this bill is far from perfect and has a large price tag, it was necessary to compromise on some things and pass it now so our economy can survive after this,” said Rep. Bacon. “This funding will allow our healthcare community to care for Nebraskans and ensure they will have jobs to return to. It also will assist nonprofits who are struggling to assist the different segments of the population they serve.” |
