Rep. Bacon Announces 2020 Military Academy Nominations

Omaha, Neb. – Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) today announced his 24 nominations to the United States military service academies: U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY; U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD; U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) at Colorado Springs, CO; and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. Congressional members nominate individuals and the final determination for appointment is made by the academies themselves.

“Being nominated and accepted for one of these military service academies is one of the most competitive processes any high school graduate can experience,” said Rep. Bacon. “During my 30 years in the Air Force, I served with great Americans who defended our most sacred freedoms. It is humbling to see our nation’s youth answer the call and show their patriotism and love for America by applying for these academies.”

Congressman Bacon thanked the Military Academy Nominations Board members: Randoph Scott, George Sefzik, and Tommie Wilson.

“I appreciate our military board members for their expertise, and I value their commitment to undertake this important mission.”
