Omaha's sewer maintenance division has been busy assessing the damage from Saturday's flash flood. "It's crucial get in and get eyes on what's going on," said Steve Andersen with sewer maintenance. The City shared video of the inspection of the cave-in near 19th Street and St. Mary's Avenue. The sewer runs 20 feet deep. "There is combined wastewater and sanitary flow in that sewer," Andersen said. [...]The City is looking at declaring an emergency to get Federal Emergency Management Agency funds. Help from Washington, D.C., however, could come in another way. "There is opportunities for Omaha to receive some of this hard infrastructure money," Congressman Don Bacon said.
