Washington, D.C. - Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) today protected the pockets of hard-working Americans and stood with our ally Israel by voting against H.R. 5305, a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) that totally removes the debt ceiling allowing for unlimited spending over the next 15 months. 

 “By voting to remove the debt ceiling until December 2022, Speaker Pelosi and the progressive Democrats just gave the green light to pass the President’s $5 trillion goody bag full of socialist giveaways and any additional spending they pass over next 15 months. These cradle-to-grave programs create dependence on Washington DC and will become permanent.

 “Further, this CR strips $1 billion in funding for Israel to replenish Iron Dome rocket interceptors. Iron Dome fills an urgent need to protect Israeli citizens from regular rocket fire perpetrated by radical terrorists, like Hamas and Hezbollah. We need to stand with our close ally and friend to ensure their safety.”
