Omaha, Neb.— Today, Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) issued the following statement in observance of Thanksgiving Day, which will be celebrated on November 25, 2021: “On this Thanksgiving Day, I reflect on our many blessings and freedoms. I’m thankful to our Heavenly Father for the love and mercy He gives us. I am thankful to Him that we live in the greatest country in the world where we are free, have equality under the law and the opportunity to achieve our dreams. No matter where you reside or who you are with this holiday season, our family, faith, and freedoms remain intact, thanks to the thousands of U.S. service members here at home and abroad. It is because of them that we are able to sleep at night, knowing our rights and liberties are protected from those who don’t agree with us. “Let us also remember the thousands of servicemembers who paid the ultimate price, including Corporal Daegen Page from Omaha, who was one of the 13 service men and women we lost during the Afghanistan withdrawal. Freedom is not free, and each generation has had heroes who defend our great land. I salute and thank the thousands of service members who are currently deployed, and who faithfully served our country as well as the many first responders who protect us all this Thanksgiving.” ### |
