Congressman Don Bacon (NE-02) released the statement below following this morning's attack in New York City:
“Once again, a person with extreme ideologies has attempted to cause harm on American soil and attack freedom and democracy. Thankfully, this would-be terrorist was not successful in his mission to hurt Americans in New York’s heavily trafficked Port Authority Bus Terminal. I am also thankful for the first responders who responded to this incident.
ISIS and other actors will not stop trying to recruit vulnerable individuals through propaganda on the internet and other information avenues. As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, we will continue to work to provide the tools needed to protect Americans, and will continue searching for ways to prevent future attacks.”
